Rioja Alavesa; Baños de Ebro, on the border between Rioja Alta and the River Ebro.
Size:
50 hectares of own property vineyards in the municipalities of Baños de Ebro, Elciego and Laguardia.

Harvest

Date:
First fortnight in October; at the moment when the grapes have specific maturity characteristics.
Method:
Cutting the grapes by hand.
Control:
During the harvest, trailer by trailer; selection bunch by bunch.

Vineyards

Varietals:
Tempranillo 90%, Viura 6% and Garnacha 4%
Age of vineyard:
Between 20 and 40 years.

Production

Method:
Carbonic maceration.
Temperature/Fermenting time:
28º C/8 days.

Sensory Analysis

Visual:
Medium layer cherry with violet edges.
Nose:
Intense aroma, spicy, very fruity, fresh, with traces of wild red berries (strawberries), and dark fruit (blackberries and plums), with sweet and sour hints.
Tasting:
Strong, meaty, very fruity, balanced with body, with a balanced acidity and noble fruity tannin, with very special afternose notes.

Recommended dishes

Grilled meat, game, sausage type products and salads.

Serving Temperature

Degrees:
Serve between 14º C and 16º C.
